…NEW YORK Looking to cover every possible angle of NFL training camp, Sports Illustrated has once again unleashed its army of 350,000 Peter King clones on the preseason workout facilities of all 32 NFL teams.
Marching in lockstep, dressed in identical turquoise polo shirts and khaki pants while carrying reporter’s notebooks in their left hands, the legion of indistinguishable sports journalists all reportedly maintain the same smile 24 hours a day, blink at the exact same time, and ask football-related questions in unison.
According to Sports Illustrated officials, there are currently 10,000 Peter King clones at each NFL training camp, with the remaining 30,000 assigned to Terrell Owens.
“The King simulacra are a very effective journalism tool,” Sports Illustrated’s assistant managing editor B.J. Schecter told reporters Friday, adding that no single human being could file six extensive training-camp reports in a one-week span. “At any given moment we might receive 84,000 different news items from 20 different…

Apple’s iPod has been singled out as the reason for more than 17 accidents per day in the UK. The situation has been dubbed “iPod Oblivion”: people so “into” what’s playing on their iPod that they ignore the world around them, necessarily leading to accidents.
…Ipods, cell phones, radios, air conditioners, the person sitting next to you, the dog in the back seat, the neon sign you are driving by. There are tons of distractions out there, it comes down to how much time you give them. Anyone who is too busy playing with their ipod deserves a low speed accident. Not only is it not safe, but its just plain stupid. Some people have no concept of when to say when. 1-2 soconds (not that I’m condoning it) is not reckless and stupid. Anything more than that though and you are just begging for it. Dont blame the machines, blame the people who cant prioritize their attention when needed….

Rudy Trace Soliz III, a former Customs and Border Protection, pleaded guilty to alien smuggling and bribery, the U.S. Attorney’s office announced today. He did it “in return for sexual favors with the co-conspirator,” the feds say
…This hot desire converts to cold disdain.” (Hey, we’re nothing but classy here.)The female co-conspirator has already pleaded guilty to possession of more than five kilos of cocaine with intent to distribute. She had yet to be sentenced, so we guess Soliz figured she wouldn’t exactly keep his secret when she got on the stand. The transporting of illegal aliens conviction carries a maximum punishment of 10 years imprisonment, while the bribery conviction is punishable by a maximum 15-year-term of imprisonment, the U.S. Attorney’s office says. A Queensland magistrate has ruled that it is acceptable for people to tell police officers to “f*ck off”.
…”I told him it was an offence to swear at an officer and gave him two choices - a fine or be arrested.” Mr Kaitira opted to be put in handcuffs and taken to the watch house. After winning the landmark case he explained outside court why he pleaded not guilty - despite admitting to swearing at Constable Young. “On the night it was completely over the top and I didn’t think it was fair,” Mr Kaitira said.”Most people just cop a fine but I didn’t want to do that.” The defendant instead read through hundreds of similar legal cases before employing a leading criminal barrister and a solicitor to take on his public nuisance case at a cost of $4622.11. It was worth it for the horticulturist as Magistrate Smid said he was not satisfied Mr Kaitira committed an offence and police could be liable for his legal bills. “The defendant spoke normally, he had his hands in his pockets and walked away,” Magistrate Smid said. “It’s not the most polite way of speaking but those who walk the beat would be quiet immune to the…
