Creative living in Hong Kong’s tight quarters. Hong Kong designer Gary Chang, has fashioned his 32-square-meter (350 square feet) apartment into a space that can transform into 20 separate rooms. His transformer apartment has garnered worldwide attention ……

…Chang’s unique design gives his apartment a spacious feel, at least by Hong Kong standards — the city of more than 7 million is among the most densely populated in the world, and the average apartment size is just 56 square meters (600 square feet). Chang understands well the overcrowded conditions that prevail in this city. The 47-year-old grew up in this apartment, sharing it with six others — his parents, three younger sisters and a tenant. In those days, it was divided into three bedrooms and Chang slept in the living room, little more than a corridor. “We had to learn the art of living close together,” Chang recalls. “One thing I remember is we spoke quietly.” As the urban population grows worldwide, interest in Chang’s apartment has gone global. (CNN) — A 14-year-old Dutch girl set sail Wednesday morning on a journey to travel around the world. Laura Dekker left her home port of Den Osse at 9:10 a.m., her spokesman Peter de Lange confirmed. “She will arrive in Portugal, near Lisbon, in two or three weeks,” de Lange said. “She is traveling in her yacht, Guppy, with her father until Lisbon where she will start the official solo sailing trip around the world.” Dekker’s attempt to circle the globe hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Last August, Dutch authorities placed Dekker under state care for two months after her parents refused to prevent her from undertaking the potentially dangerous voyage. Last October, a Dutch court ruled against letting Dekker sail solo around the world, saying she is not experienced enough to make the trip on her own. However, she would be allowed to travel this year if she fulfilled certain requirements the court established for her to sail. NBA Jam Officially Confirmed For Xbox 360 and PS3

Apparently, NBA Elite 11 will include a download code for NBA Jam on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A press release sent out by EA today mentions that the code will allow users to access three modes of NBA Jam: Play Now, Classic Campaign, and Online.

…EA has been emphasizing the Wii version, which made it seem like a timed exclusive. Instead, it’s the only “complete” version, and the only one that players can pay for on its own. EA has been in the habit of including downloadable codes in its new games, but this pits that strategy directly against a downloadable game on another platform. The publisher might be testing the waters to see what kind of difference the alternative methods make….

London, England (CNN) — Proving that records are meant to be broken, even after 114 years, a British-led rowing team Saturday won bragging rights for crossing the North Atlantic. The four men, who left New York City on June 17, completed their journey at St. Mary’s Harbour on the Isles of Scilly after rowing, rowing, rowing and more rowing for almost 44 days, the Ocean Rowing Society International reported. The Artemis Ocean Racing team, led by Leven Brown, finished in 43 days, 21 hours, 26 minutes and 48 seconds, knocking more than 11 days off the 55-day record set by a pair of Norwegians in 1896, according to the UK Press Association. Dozens of people lined up at the dock and crowded on to boats in the harbor to witness the team’s arrival. Lawman’s Grandchildren Outraged; “Would You Issue A Pardon For Someone Who Made His Living As A Thief”

…The showdown between frontier lawman Pat Garrett and notorious outlaw Billy the Kid has fascinated the American public for nearly 130 years with its classic, Old West storyline.

As it turns out, the feud isn’t completely over.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is considering granting a posthumous pardon to Billy the Kid, angering descendants of Garrett who call it an insult to recognize such a violent outlaw.

Three of the late lawman’s grandchildren sent a letter to Richardson this week that asked him not to pardon the outlaw, saying such an act would represent an “inexcusable defamation” of Garrett.

“If Billy the Kid was living amongst us now, would you issue a pardon for someone who made his living as a thief and, more egregiously, who killed four law enforcement officers and numerous others?” the Garrett family wrote.

The issue has resurfaced because Richardson asked a New Mexico columnist earlier this year to check with historians to measure their support for issuing a pardon. The governor plans to…
