Apple’s iPod has been singled out as the reason for more than 17 accidents per day in the UK. The situation has been dubbed “iPod Oblivion”: people so “into” what’s playing on their iPod that they ignore the world around them, necessarily leading to accidents.

…Ipods, cell phones, radios, air conditioners, the person sitting next to you, the dog in the back seat, the neon sign you are driving by. There are tons of distractions out there, it comes down to how much time you give them. Anyone who is too busy playing with their ipod deserves a low speed accident. Not only is it not safe, but its just plain stupid. Some people have no concept of when to say when. 1-2 soconds (not that I’m condoning it) is not reckless and stupid. Anything more than that though and you are just begging for it. Dont blame the machines, blame the people who cant prioritize their attention when needed….

When government get’s involved so heavily in a private corporation this is what we see. Loss of profit incentive and efficiency. Customer service and customer satisfaction are something the airlines have completely lost the ability to maintain. It’s not wonder the airlines are failing. I for one won’t fly unless there is no alternative. I’d rather drive somewhere than subject myself to the embarrassment that is the airline industry and the TSA. Like this 6 people like this comment

A fairly serious new study — one that actually contains the words “booty call” in its title — breaks down what’s missing in your sex life, and how to compromise.

…If you appreciate romance with your casual sex such as hugging and holding hands a one-night stand is preferable to a long-term affair. If you’re feeling extremely horny, however, the latter is ideal. And if you can’t get enough oral sex, you belong in a loving relationship. This is according to University of South Alabama psychology professor Peter K. Jonason, who is not your typical shrink.

Jonason’s latest paper, “Positioning the Booty Call Relationship on the Spectrum of Relationships,” analyzes the dynamics of modern dating. He has conducted numerous studies, and concluded that the binary dichotomy of “hookup versus commitment” is obsolete. An increasingly popular third category blends the two. “Booty calls are a compromise between men’s and women’s ideals,” Jonason says. “The booty call relationship gives the guy easy access to sex, and gives the woman a steady partner.”
