Bacon is the epitome of awesomeness.
…I love that you have Baconpalooza up, because it just reminded me how much I do love bacon. Since training for this Ironman, I can pretty much eat anything. I think I am going to make myself some bacon and eggs. Also, one of my friend’s, Mike enjoys eating bacon on his pizza. I will have to try that sometime. Kudos to Bacon !!…

Upon reading the letters, shift supervisor Doug Kirchoff and his crew discovered they were written by the family of James Prosser, a soldier from Wales killed in Afghanistan in September 2009.
…messages, each individually wrapped and dry in an empty bottle.Upon reading the letters, Kirchoff and his crew discovered they were written by the family of James Prosser, a soldier from Wales killed in Afghanistan in September 2009.According to an article in the South Wales Argus newspaper, Prosser’s family had taken a vacation to Barbados in January of this year and, after writing the “heartfelt” letters to him and other family members, sent the bottle into the Caribbean Sea.”(James’) favorite drink was sambucca, so they had gone out to sea to take a toast,” Kirchoff said. When reading the letters, Kirchoff’s crew discovered the address of Sarah Adams, Prosser’s mother.Though the letters weren’t entirely readable, cleanup crew members were able to glean enough information for an Internet search for the soldier and his family. When they reached out to the newspaper earlier this week, it just so happened that the article’s author was having lunch with Adams, who will be celebrating her 43rd birthday…

So we all had a big laugh when people started jailbreaking iPhones inside Apple’s stores this week, but inevitably that fun’s been ended by the retail spots wising up and banning jailbreakme.com from their WiFi networks. Well, not so fast…
…dysan819 Now you know how Microsoft feels about hacker attacking their OS. It’s not like Apple fans brag how Apple products never get viruses and are infallible. This just shows you a simple website can exploit your complete system. What if someone phished you to a site and wiped you iPhone/iPod/iPad? People would freak and Apple would have an overload at the Genius Bar….

They’re games, but they’re also parodies of games. Sweet!
…better than creator Ian Bogost himself: “You get a cow. You can click on it. In six hours, you can click it again. Clicking earns you clicks. You can buy custom ‘premium’ cows through micropayments (the Cow Clicker currency is called ‘mooney’), and you can buy your way out of the time delay by spending it. You can publish feed stories about clicking your cow, and you can click friends’ cow clicks in their feed stories. Cow Clicker is Facebook games distilled to their essence.” Plus you don’t even need Flash…

It came as no surprise that something as good as Portal appealed not only to a hardcore audience, but also casual gamers. The wait for Portal 2 is getting shorter, but as more information is revealed one thing keeps coming up: is Portal 2 going to be too hard? Will it scare off the casual fans Portal was able to pick up?
…When I initial heard about the Orange Box I thought Portal sounded like another tedious puzzle game. I lothe puzzle games. But I recently bought Orange Box for $18 used, and thought, what the hey I will try it out. I love the game. Finished the advanced maps and am still trying to capture gold in a few of the stages. It is a great game. With all that in mind though, I would have rather seen Valve put out another Orange Box, with multiple games again, that have a stand alone Portal game. The time it takes to get thru all the maps in Portal is just about perfect, and if you want to do more you can. If a full game of Portal is longer I think it would border on the repetitive, but it if is only as long as the first one, then I do not think people will be happy paying full game price for it….

A county official in Oregon has apologized after a 7-year-old’s business venture was soured because health inspectors shut down her lemonade stand.
…PORTLAND, Ore. A county official in Oregon has apologized after a 7-year-old’s business venture was soured because health inspectors shut down her lemonade stand.
Multnomah County Chairman Jeff Cogen, the county’s top elected official, said Thursday that running a lemonade stand is a “classic iconic American kid thing to do.”
He says he called Julie Murphy’s mother, Maria Fife, to offer his apology and says she appreciated it.
Fife helped her daughter set up a lemonade stand last week at a local arts fair in northeast Portland. They had to pack up and leave after being approached by two inspectors who said the stand lacked a license.
Cogen says while the inspectors were doing their job, the rules are meant for professional food service operators. He adds he ran lemonade stands as a child….

Axel, E.T. and Indy (no, not the one who hides from nuclear blasts in refrigerators) vs. Aragorn, Gaylord and Jake Sulley.
…Ledger edges Nicholson (not in cool though) Keaton and Bale are a wash to me, and TDK has the far superior script. That was tough to say. I beat a kid up on the bus over the Batman VHS back in 90, and I owned it for 25 hours before his brother got to me the next day and body slammed me Ultimate Warrior style in front of the entire 5th grade. I gave the tape back. That was my dedication. I gave and took ass whippings for Burton’s Batman….
